If whovians love talking about anything as much as their favorite Doctor, it’s their favorite companions.  The Doctor has had a plethora of them during his 11/12 incarnations (depending on how you count John Hurt’s Doctor), which have, in many cases, made the Doctor a more interesting character.  His choice of companions shows things about him.  His love for humanity.  His love for adventure.  His compassion.  How he loves friendship.  They’ve even, in some cases, brought out the best in him and made him change for the better.  Looking throughout the show’s long tenure, these are, in my opinion, the 10 best Doctor Who companions to date.

    • I don’t consider River a regular companion. More of a recurring guest star. The Brigadier would’ve been the same except he was a regular with the third Doctor.

As to Rose, I honestly don’t think she’s top ten material. I like her, and I think she’s a good character, but I just don’t think she’s as good as the others on this list. I honestly thought Billie Piper was much better in the Fiftieth Anniversary. I’d love to see her playing a character with that type of personality.

  1. Ok, I get what you are saying about River.

Now about Rose. One of the things that makes her the best in my opinion is the story development. It starts off with a girl that is basically pacifist, and a man who is out for revenge. In the end they are able to help each other out in there way of thinking, she can fight in times that need it, and he can show compassion to even his worst enemy’s.

And there is also the part that you don’t see with any of the other companions, was when she realizes that she has just ran away with a man that she dose not even know, trusting him with her life. Now she tells him to take her back, until she finds out she can trust him. And another thing… This is fun, keep it coming! :)
